Eurovision fans, mark your calendars. According to the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the 71st Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Burgas, Bulgaria, in May 2027 — the country’s first time hosting the contest, after Bulgaria’s record-margin win at the 2026 edition.
The key facts
- Host city: Burgas, on Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast.
- Dates: 11, 13 and 15 May 2027 (semi-finals and grand final).
- Venue: Arena Burgas.
- Host broadcaster: Bulgarian National Television (BNT).
Why it matters for expats
Eurovision is the one night of the year when expat groups, pubs and living rooms across Europe come together to cheer for their home country. If you are living abroad, you want to watch it live — with the commentary in your own language, not a local broadcast.
Broadcasters geo-block outside their home country, which is exactly where an IPTV subscription helps: the national channels carrying the show arrive in one place, on any device. Watch the final on your living-room TV, or stream the semi-finals from your phone in a hotel.
Make a night of it
Organise a Eurovision party with your expat friends, get the snacks in, and set up your stream early so you do not miss the first song. If you want the build-up, the week before is a good time to test your setup.
